Description
Tilia platyphyllos ‘Laciniata’ (Cut-leaf Lime)
A striking, deciduous tree admired for its deeply cut, lace-like foliage that gives it a delicate, ferny appearance. In spring to summer, clusters of pale yellow, sweetly fragrant flowers attract bees and pollinators, followed by small nut-like fruits. This cultivar has an elegant, upright habit, maturing to around 10–15 m tall and 6–8 m wide.
Best grown in cool to temperate regions of Australia, it prefers fertile, moist, well-drained soils and a sunny to partly shaded position. Tolerant of light frost and urban conditions, it is ideal as a feature shade tree in larger gardens, parks, or avenues where its unique foliage can be fully appreciated.
