Description
Sophora macrocarpa is a striking and unusual evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub or small tree, prized for its attractive foliage and beautiful golden-yellow flowers. Native to Chile, it produces clusters of large, pea-like blooms that add a vibrant splash of colour, particularly from winter through spring.
Growing well in many Australian gardens, Sophora macrocarpa prefers a sunny to partly shaded position with well-drained soil. Once established, it is reasonably tolerant of dry conditions and can adapt to coastal gardens and mild frost. Its graceful form and distinctive flowers make it an excellent feature plant for gardens, larger landscapes, or as part of a unique collection of rare and unusual plants.
