Description
A vigorous, evergreen climber or scrambling shrub native to New Zealand, Griselinia scandens is ideal for Australian gardens seeking lush, fast-growing greenery. It features glossy, leathery green leaves and can grow up to 5–6 metres high and 3 metres wide, making it excellent for covering fences, walls, or using as a groundcover on banks. Though not commonly known for flowers, it may produce small, inconspicuous greenish blooms. Best grown in full sun to part shade, it thrives in well-drained soils and is tolerant of coastal conditions and light frosts. Prune to shape or control growth as needed.
