Description
Dombeya tiliacea (Wild Pear) is a fast-growing, deciduous to semi-evergreen shrub or small tree reaching 4–8 metres high and 3–5 metres wide. It produces large, heart-shaped leaves and attractive clusters of pale pink to white flowers from late spring to summer, attracting pollinators like bees and butterflies. Best suited to warm, frost-free areas of Australia, it thrives in full sun to part shade and well-drained soil. Ideal as a feature plant or for subtropical gardens. Prune after flowering to maintain shape. Drought-tolerant once established.
