The finely-toothed and obovate leaves go from a pleasant green into bright red autumn colors ... Edible berries resembling blueberries in size and color following flowers are purple/black in early summer. Berries are used in jams, jellies and pies. Amelanchiers are commonly called Juneberries. Hardy deciduous small trees 5-8 metres tall , in time they achieve more size especially in the wild. Bird attracting , they will grow into a thicket or prune to achieve a single main trunk. Endemic to Eastern North America .
