Description
This cultivar is aptly named 'Octopus' due to its long, sprawling branches that resemble tentacles. As it matures, it forms an impressive, irregular mound and its deeply dissected foliage emerges in a vibrant pinkish-red hue before transitioning to a rich purple. In the summer, the leaves change to a bronze shade before turning dark green in warmer climates. In the fall, the foliage undergoes a stunning transformation to a fiery, bright red color. This Weeping Japanese Maple is known for its fast growth rate and belongs to the Sapindaceae family.
