Beautiful large upright purple flower spikes in Spring. A fast growing deciduous tree with a compatable root system for under planting smaller plants. Sapphire Dragon makes a great specimen or shade tree. One of the fastest trees too provide shade, I often recommend this tree in new bare landscapes where quick shelter is required to protect sensitive species.
