A vigorous pyramidal cultivar with brilliant golden yellow foliage.In ten years 4-6x1.5-2.5m.Grown from irradiated seed in 1974 at the Kameyama Breeding Station,Institute for Forest Tree Improvement,New Oji Paper Co.Ltd,Mia,Japan into the USA by Stanley and Sons Nursery under its original name 'Ogon'(japanese for gold or yellow) but they changed the name to 'Gold Rush'.It was introduced into europe by Pieter Zwijnenburg,Boskoop,Netherlands in 1993 and sold as 'Goldrush' in1997.
