Fuchsia flowering Gooseberry, Ribes speciosum is a 1 metre semi-evergreen shrub ( pretty much deciduous here ) with red fuchsia-like flowers in early August just after the glossy green foliage emerges from winter. This gooseberry has small spiny stems and small red jewel fruits later in summer.
