Trees and Shrubs

Osmanthus Heterophyllus GoshikiConsidered a very hardy evergreen shrub. ‘Goshiki’ means ‘five coloured’ in Japanese and refers to the array of colours on each leaf. Cream, pink, orange, yellow and white all swirl together to produce an eye-catching display. Great for brightening up a dull patch  in the garden or an unusual informal hedge. 

Origin: Asia

Leaves margined deep yellow.

Grows deep purple at first, later green, slightly tinged purple.

Osmanthus heterophyllus RotundifoliusA curious slow-growing form of neat, compact habit, with short, thick, black-green, leathery leaves, which are spineless but bluntly toothed and occasionally twisted.

Osmanthus heterophyllus Variegatagreat bushy shrub that can get 2-3 metres with time , more likely appear compact smaller shrub for some years.The masses of small white flowers in late summer-autumn , are sweetly scented. It can handle reasonable amounts of sun or a shady location if required. White edged foliage adds some warmth too the winter landscape.

This is a first class, hardy shrub of compact growth, slowly attaining 2.5-3m. Leaves oval 2.5-5cm long,dark shining green, leathery and toothed. The very fragrant, white flowers are profusely borne in april or may.

oxydendrum arboreum © 2013  (Sorrel Tree) Small deciduous tree, scarlet Autumn colour. White Lily-of-the-Valley flowers in Summer. Grow in conditions suitable for Rhododendrons.

Pachysandra terminalis Pachysandra terminalis, Japanese pachysandra, carpet box or Japanese spurge, is a wonderful groundcover species. Pachysandra will naturalize in shady woodlands, making a delightful low green carpet for great landscaping effect and low maintenance. Masses of sweetly scented white flower heads in spring. Pachysandra is used in the millions in the northern hemisphere as a major landscaping plant for shade - Japan, Korea and China.
