Perennials, Bulbs & Bamboo

A hardy but very rare variety of Amorphophallis. Spring display of green & white speckled flower stalks topped with a green & white spotted 'vase'. A long, purple, spear-like spadix completes this unusual display.

Also known as Devil's Tongue, Voodoo Lily or the Snake Plant. An unusual tropical plant usually grown for its interesting foliage. Large tubers produce a single inflorescence. The heavy stalk bears a large, shiny brown-purple to maroon ruffled spathe. When in bloom it produces a stench like a dead animal - intended to attract the carrion flies that are its natural pollinators.

The Cobra-lily. Grown for the white flowers that peek out amongst the foliage. The foliage is large and tolerant of more direct sun than other species but still requiring moist soil.

Origin: Asia

arisaema consanguineum © 2013A tall growing summer bulb whose leaf emerges in spring to early summer. The unusual hooded flowers are green-white and are borne along the leaf stem. Bright red-orange seed pods in late summer.
